Bolton is located within easy reach of the M60 Manchester Ring Road (J15 approx 5mins away) and is surrounded by many beautiful county parks. Smithills is a 2000 acre park on the edge of the West Pennine Moors and offers superb views over Bolton and the surrounding area. Queens Park is a large park, just a few minutes' walk from Bolton town centre, with a lake, bowling greens, children's play area, tennis courts and football pitch (fee payable).

Bolton is also home to the Reebok Stadium,  BoltonWanderers  who are Premiership football team, and Peter Kay (comedian), who appeared not so long ago in the AlbertHalls Bolton.
